Tower Crane
A tower crane will be installed at the TMOTP site from 7th May. This is a very exciting milestone for the Project. The crane will be used to assist with lifting heavy items such as structural components, as we come out of the ground.
Test Piling
Test piling at the Civic Whare, Exhibition and Museum site near Hamilton Street, is commencing this week.
RAP piling is the process of installing aggregate into the ground to increase the bearing capacity of soils so it can eventually support the foundations of the building. As with the earlier Test Piling on the Library site, the test piling activity is required to verify the design ahead of the main RAP piling works.
The test piling activity is expected to be complete by 10th May.
Neighbours may experience some noise and vibration during this activity. People can feel even very small vibrations and may feel disturbed by the vibrations. In general, the further away the work is, the lower the vibration levels being felt.
Works will be undertaken during the hours of 7.30am to 6.00pm.
Pedestrian Gantry
A pedestrian gantry tunnel has been installed along Wharf Street, to provide uninterrupted safe passage for pedestrians to use the footpath while construction works are happening.
We are very aware that the construction of the project will have an impact on our neighbours, and we are very appreciative of your tolerance.
