April Update: Hydrovacing on Willow Street

Hydro Excavation (or Hydrovacing) will commence on Willow Street in the coming days. Hydrovacing is an excavation technique using pressurised water. This will allow the site hoardings to move onto Willow Street, to create the construction entrance and exit for the Te Manawataki o Te Papa Development site.

As a result of this progress, the section of Willow Street between Wharf and Hamilton Street intersections has joined the one-way traffic system recently introduced to neighbouring streets.

Neighbours may experience increased construction noise while the hydrovacing is undertaken. The hydrovacing is expected to be completed by mid-April.

The resource consent permits noisy work to be carried out within the hours of Monday to Saturday, 7:30am to 6:00pm.

Regular updates will be posted on this blog. Subscribe using the link below to receive these updates via email.

We are very aware that the construction of the project will have an impact on our neighbours and we are very appreciative of your tolerance.
